Tip: Pump accessories (including the flange duckbill valve, diaphragm, and insert) are consumable parts. To maintain optimal suction power and performance, we highly recommend replacing these accessories every 1–3 months of regular use.
Solution
- Turn off the breast pump, remove the motor from the milk collector, place a clean finger over the suction hole, and check if the baseline suction feels strong
- Assemble the accessories, insert a 17mm insert, seal the flange tunnel with your thumb, and feel if the suction increases pressure normally.
- Inspect the duckbill valve, insert, and milk collector for any tiny tears, cracks, or warped edges.
- Reassemble the insert, ensuring it is aligned completely flat and flush against the milk collector without any gaps.
- Press the pump motor firmly back onto the milk collector to ensure a tight, airtight seal.
- Ensure proper sizing and fit; any gap between your breast and the flange tunnel will cause air leaks and lower the suction.
Note
If the issue persists, especially under these scenarios:
- The bare motor has strong suction, but it drops significantly once assembled.
- Suction remains extremely weak across all levels and modes even with brand-new, dry parts.
