Solution:
1. Let the person and the thermometer remain in the same room for at least 30 minutes before measuring. Do not measure immediately after bathing, exercise, eating, drinking, nursing, or moving from a very hot or cold environment.
2. Check that the probe lens is clean. Wipe it gently with a cotton swab lightly moistened with 75% alcohol, then wait at least 10 minutes until it is completely dry. Remove hair, sweat, or dirt from the forehead before measuring.
3. For forehead mode, keep the probe cover installed. Aim at the center of the forehead from 0-3 cm (0-1.2 in) away and short-press the Measure button. Use the same point and distance each time.
4. For ear mode, remove the probe cover. Make sure the ear canal is clean and not blocked by earwax, insert the probe gently without forcing it, and always compare readings from the same ear.
5. Wait at least 10 seconds between measurements. Take three readings using the same mode and position. If the readings become consistent, continue using that same method rather than comparing forehead and ear values directly.
6. If readings are consistently high, check the temperature compensation setting: with the thermometer on, hold the Measure and Memory/Baby buttons together for 5 seconds, then set compensation to +0.0°C. If the issue continues, contact Momcozy Support and provide the measuring mode, three readings, and the comparison method used.
Note:
Object mode must not be used to assess body temperature. Removing and reinstalling the batteries resets stored memories and settings. A thermometer reading does not replace medical evaluation; seek professional advice when symptoms or temperature readings are concerning.
